For metal music I like using a very sharp boost at 4-5k, almost a like a notch filter inverted. But this particular curve you used would definitely be good if you don't want to overpower other sounds at that frequency, such as for pop rock or jazz, maybe for country.

2 years after release of Stolperbeats and it's still full of bugs. I warn anyone who is thinking of purchasing this module against it. the current issue with SB is that the envelopes will fire at times when they are not programmed when externally clocking and resetting the module. This comes on the back of an issue where the module would not reset at all if the reset trigger came at the same time as a clock pulse. During this time there was also an issue where the envelopes would fire at the beginning of each bar when externally clocked. These are just the last few bugs in a long string of them since the release. Stolperbeats has never worked as described since day one. I would advise anyone thinking about purchasing this module to move on and find a better company to support.

Owning both Arousor and Distressor, the UAD sounds absolutely better. It reminds me my HW's. The Arousor causes that grainy highs that I hate from compressor plugins.

I dont know why, but the vintage mode really speaks to me. The voicing just works. Thr modern and hybrid mode dont really do it for me but I might just buy them for the vintage mode. Seems to me to be a really really solid record ready sound for acustical instruments.

Poor people, I just can't see how it's going to work going by current statistics. Every single day and timeslot for every day is available even for the mastering chain (and I checked a few individual processors too), so nobody is using it - literally nobody. That's terrible. What a massive investment and they are ahead of their time and I guess the world isn't ready. I am going to use it to specifically mix and master some of my more important songs with real analog gear and if the difference is there and tangible I will continue using it, as I'll never be able to afford most of the gear they use nor do I even have the room to house it and wire it up.
